What is the Bahá'í Glossary?

The Bahá'í vocabulary has many Arabic and Persian words that may be unfamiliar to non-native speakers and newcomers to the Bahá'í Faith. This glossary is designed to help Bahá'ís learn to pronounce these words according to the pronunciation guide established and promoted by Shoghí Effendí.

Place: Tákur, Irán

A village in the district of Núr in the province of Mázindarán, Írán. When Bahá'u'lláh's father, Mírzá Buzurg, rose to the rank of vizier, he was given the village in lieu of a salary. Mírzá Buzurg built a family home in the village. While growing up, Bahá'u'lláh spent the summers in Tákur and the winters in Tihrán.
