A town in Kurdistán. Because of the disunity that Mírzá Yahyá was causing among the Bábís, Bahá’u’lláh left Baghdád for the mountains of Kurdistán. He took with him a little-known Bábí named Áqá Abu’l-Qásim-i-Hamadání and left without telling anyone where he was going. For two years Bahá’u’lláh lived in a cave on the mountain of Sar-Galú, communing with God and providing explanations to mystical works for the súfís in the area. Hamadání lived in Sulaymáníyyiyih and worked as a merchant there, securing basic provisions for Bahá’u’lláh.
