The holy book of Islám. The Qur’án was revealed to Muhammad as a series of 114 Súrihs (chapters). The Súrihs were revealed to Muhammad through the angel Gabriel over the course of His 22 year mission. Each of the Súrihs constitutes a separate revelation. Bahá’u’lláh referred to the Qur'án as 'the Way of God' and Shoghí Effendí stated that Bahá'ís should study it thoroughly so as to be able to 'adequately understand and intelligently read the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh.'
