Bahá translates as 'Glory' or 'Splendor' and, according to Bahá'í belief, is the Greatest Name of God. Bahá'u'lláh took the title of Bahá at the Conference of Badasht in 1848. Bahá is also the name of the first month of the Bahá'í year, starting at sunset March 20th and ending at sunset April 8th. In addition, it is the name of the first day of every Bahá'í month.
