What is the Bahá'í Glossary?
The Bahá'í vocabulary has many Arabic and Persian words that may be unfamiliar to non-native speakers and newcomers to the Bahá'í Faith. This glossary is designed to help Bahá'ís learn to pronounce these words according to the pronunciation guide established and promoted by Shoghí Effendí.

Azalí or Azalí Bábí is the name of a follower of Subh-i-Azal (Mírzá Yahyá) and the Báb. Early followers of the Báb were known as Bábís, however in the 1860’s a split occurred after which the vast majority of Bábís followed Bahá'u'lláh, and became known as Bahá'ís, while the minority who followed Subh-i-Azal came to be called Azalís. Current estimates are that there are no more than a few thousand Azalís worldwide.
